Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure (HIRD)

Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Health Care Reform Act of 2006 has created several reporting and record keeping requirements for both employees and employers. A new process employers have been encumbered with is the Health Insurance Responsibility Disclosure (HIRD) forms that must be collected. All employees who are either waiving or ineligible for health insurance coverage from their employer in the state of Massachusetts must complete a HIRD form.

Benefit Strategies, LLC can now make HIRD administration a seamless process for you. When an employee decides not to enroll or becomes ineligible for the health insurance, we will take over the HIRD administration and make certain the appropriate employees sign a HIRD form. Up to three forms will be sent in 15 day increments to the employee’s place of residence with step by step instructions on how to complete the form accurately. Each letter sent is tracked by the date they are mailed along with a photo copy of the stamped envelope to prove mailing. Up to date reports are available to all our clients upon request.
