Retirement Plan Services

We are here to help the Plan Sponsor make informed, judicious decisions regarding their company’s 401(k) Plan. After all, a retirement savings plan must be designed with the personal long-term needs and objectives of the participants.

Responsibility rests with the employer as a fiduciary and we are here to provide the sponsor with a defined investment methodology, open-architecture investing and accurate compliance to the Plan’s written provisions. All three aspects of our services are designed to assist in meeting the employer’s fiduciary responsibilities.


Defined Methodology: Investment Policy Statement (IPS)

The Investment Policy Statement (IPS) is a defensible, logical and responsible method used in determining which assets and asset classes should be in your company’s Retirement Plan.

An IPS spells out:

  • Which asset categories are in the Plan
  • The overall investment strategy
  • A process to filter and monitor assets for quality assurance
  • A schedule to review current investments and whether they continue to meet the filters of the IPS


Open-architecture Recordkeeping

IPS Driven Investments
With over 250 fund families, and 6,000 funds to pick from, the filters spelled out by the Investment Policy Statement will provide the directive to choose the “best in class” investments for your Plan.

Dot Com
On-line access includes flexible web applications including account balance inquiries, daily trading, transaction history, calculators and access to Morningstar and CNNFN for up-to-date information regarding the Plan’s mutual funds.

Enjoyable Enrollment Process
We can provide an enrollment process designed to stimulate participants about the concept of retirement.

SAS 70 Certified
The SAS 70 is an independent Statement on Auditing Standards, provided by an independent 3rd party auditor (BDO Seidman).


Administration

Guidance
Retirement Plan Analysts monitor regulatory and legislative developments pertinent to your plan, providing guidance for your specific needs.

Compliance Testing
Testing includes, Annual Additions [IRC Section 415(c)], Annual Deduction Limit [IRC Section 404(a)(3) / 404], Minimum Coverage and Participation Testing [IRC Section 410(b)] Top Heavy Testing [IRC Section 416] and ADP / ACP Testing [IRC Section 401(k) / 401(m)] testing.

Government Forms
We prepare the Plan’s annual information return, IRS Form 5500 and related schedules as well as the Summary Annual Report. The 1099-R is also prepared for applicable distribution events.

Plan Documents and Plan Design Consulting
Plan Documents and design include, however not limited to, 401(K) Plans, Profit Sharing and Money Purchase Plans, Age Based, New Comparability and Sole Proprietor Calculations.
